Eleanor’s new collection, Andraste’s Hair was shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best First Collection 2007. It’s published by Salt Publishing.

Recently she has been working on a poem for performance called ‘Eliza and the Bear’. This new long poem was performed as part of the Bluecoat Chapter and Verse Festival by Cathy Butterworth with specially composed harp music from Rebecca Sharp.
Eleanor has also been poet-in-residence at Chester Zoo where she was commissioned to write a new poem ‘The Animals’ Sleep’ thinking about issues to do with habitat destruction. She is currently visting local schools with the piece.
‘Andraste’s Hair’ was shortlisted for the Glen Dimplex New Writers Awards 2008 from The Irish Writers Centre. She attended the awards ceremony in Dublin in on November 10th.
Eleanor is working on a new book of poems which is provisionally called ‘Eliza and the Bear’.
